Kevin Jones Sensei (Chief Instructor) and Nick Chand Sensei (Dojo Cho) co-founded Zenith Aikido Aikikai on 3rd March 2020. We both started our aikido journey with the Graiseley Aikido under Paul Preece Sensei (6th Dan). We both wanted to learn Iwama Bukiwaza and later joined Seijitsu Aikido Ryu under Terry Bayliss Shihan (8th Dan). Over later years our Aikido path has taken a turn and our interest lead us to explore Tenshin Aikido methodology of Steven Seagal. We have incorporated the hand deflections based on sword work and the Tenshin Aikido methodologies. Our Aikido is always evolving, but maintaining basic fundamentals to build on. Even though we respect tradition, we also embrace change to adapt and make our Aikido applicable to today's ever evolving society. |

Nick Chand (Dojo Chan) 4th Dan My martial arts journey started as a teenager doing taekwondo. I cam across Aikido in my mid thirties and have trained extensively ever since. During that time I have briefly tried out BJJ, Jujitsu and Wind Chun to explore different methodologies. A core element of our aikido is based on Tenshin Aikido of Steven Seagal Shihan, and I like many other was attracted to his early films.Over the years I have developed a great interest in Japanese based Budo and culture. I am proud to say my partner and son have joined my Aikido journey, and eventually my daughter. I would like to see more women and children take up Aikido. I am the founder of Aikido Budo Alliance and Aiki Budo Alliance with over 66K follow |
