Welcome to my web
As you will read on the Nenthead Page, I first
started caving 31 ½ years ago This was with the Harrow Moles Caving Club,
founded in 1952, and based in London. I stayed with the Club, and in the
early ‘70s, became Secretary for 4 years. During this period, a committee
member suggested making some ‘flocked’ T shirts made, bearing a MOLE
cartoon character from an earlier Newsletter, named Harry Mole. Here he
is!

Here, in The Royal Forest Of Dean, the T shirt was proudly worn,
especially in ‘The Butchers Arms’ Clearwell, much frequented by the local
cavers. It was here, that one Phil Schwarz coined for me the nick-name
‘MOLE’. As it happens, only 3 T shirts were ever made, and I had all the 3
samples. 1 is still in good nick, so keep your eyes open, as you may see
it about one day! I apologize for the bad photocopy reproduction here: it
doesn’t do the original justice!
